Bangkok Winter Event Highlights
Phraya
The Vijit Chao Phraya Event

Don't miss the spectacular Vijit Chao Phraya Event if you visit Bangkok in December! The highlight of this winter event is the 20-metre-tall Christmas tree along the riverbank park, which, with its dazzling play of lights, colours, and music, seems to dance with the water.

Additionally, the ICONIC multimedia light and water show, and the fountain dance will truly enhance this stunning experience.

Location: ICONSIAM, Siam Takutai, Levels G to 2, RiverPark
Dates: Early November to early January

Chiang Mai Winter Event Highlights
Marathon
Chiang Mai Marathon

Chiang Mai, located in northern Thailand, enjoys a moderate climate free from the typical Southeast Asian humidity—perfect for running. The Chiang Mai Marathon starts near the ancient Tha Phae Gate and winds through the city under the enchanting night lights. The course runs along the old city walls, where runners encounter Buddha statues and temples, finishing through a gate adorned with the Thai king's portrait, echoing the blessing of "peace and prosperity."

Participants can also explore the majestic Ratchaphruek Garden, and marvel at its exquisite Thai architecture. There are supply stations every two kilometres, loaded with tropical fruits to energise the runners. Will you join us for this year-end Chiang Mai Marathon?

Race Location: Tha Phae Gate, Chiang Mai, Thailand
Race Date: Mid-December
Race Categories: Full Marathon, Half Marathon, 10K, 3K

Lantern
Chiang Mai Lantern Festival

The Chiang Mai Lantern Festival, which celebrates Phra Thar Jura Manee, a deity revered by the local community, is an annual event that is both romantic and mesmerising. During the festival, participants release lanterns into the sky all at once, creating a stunning display as the lanterns drift with the breeze, glowing like stars in a vibrant orange galaxy. It is a local belief that couples who release lanterns together will be blessed with a harmonious and joyful relationship.

Location: CAD Cultural Centre
Date: Late November
Tickets: HKD $800 - $1500+
(Tickets are available in Premium, VIP, and Standard categories, differing in dining options, transportation services, and seating arrangements.)

Phuket Winter Event Highlights
Diver
Similan Islands – Diver’s Paradise

Away from the hustle and bustle, the Similan Islands boast crystal-clear waters, colourful coral reefs, and thriving marine life. This paradise is a dream for diving enthusiasts. Often called a real-life "Aquatic Wonderland," the pure, natural beauty of the area is truly captivating.

Location: Similan Archipelago, about a 1.5-hour boat ride from Phuket

Tips: Choose a double-decker boat for excellent photo opportunities on the top deck. Sun protection trio: sunglasses, sunscreen, and a beach hat. Shoes are not allowed on Similan Islands; leave them at the port and consider bringing beach socks.

*To protect the ecosystem, the season for diving the Similan islands is November to May. Diving enthusiasts with certification should not miss this!
