^The Upstream Check-in service enables passengers to obtain boarding passes and check through baggage to the final destination at certain ferry/ bridge ports. Under certain conditions, extra document check at SkyPier Terminal might be required. For passengers not using Upstream Check-in service, they must check-in at SkyPier Terminal. If you are not using our Intermodal Pass , you should proceed to refund of Air Passenger Departure Tax before travelling to terminal. All passengers transferring at SkyPier Terminal at Hong Kong International Airport are only allowed to stay in the airport restricted area.

FAQ - HK Express Intermodal Pass
  1. Why should I book the HK Express Intermodal Pass via HK Express?
    HK Express Intermodal Pass is an exclusive package only available at HK Express. It offers a seamless cross-border travel experience at an attractive fare! Book with us to enjoy the same baggage allowance of your flight without additional charges for your ferry/coach segment and automatically exempt from Hong Kong Air Passenger Departure Tax. Another benefit is the auto protection on missing connections, which we will honour the next available flight or ferry/coach to you (*applicable to unforeseen circumstances, e.g. operational delay or cancellation from HK Express or CKS only).

  2. Do I need to book HK Express Intermodal Pass in advance? Can I change the date after booking?
    You must book the HK Express Intermodal Pass at least 1 day before the scheduled ferry/coach departure time. You may change your flights/ferries/coaches via “Manage My Booking” or Customer Care. A change fee of HKD 580 will be charged for every change on a per customer and per segment basis. Please note that fare differences may apply. Changes can be made up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure.

  3. What is the baggage allowance for HK Express Intermodal Pass?
    Cabin baggage and checked baggage allowance on ferry/coach segments are aligned as those on HK Express flights. Your checked baggage allowance purchased shall apply to the entire journey. Please visit our Baggage Information page for details.

  4. Can I correct my name after booking?
    We accept minor name corrections up to a maximum of 3 letters for each booking only. A change fee of HKD 350 will be charged on a per booking basis. Visit our Fare Rules page for more details. Please note that name correction requests related to HK Express Intermodal Pass should raise to us at least 48 hours before the scheduled departure of your first segment via HK Express Customer Care as any request on name corrections for the ferry/coach segment made within 48 hours before the scheduled departure of your first segment will be subject to approval from CKS.

  5. How should I request for wheelchair assistance?
    Please make your request via our Customer Care at least 48 hours before departure. If applicable, we will forward your request on ferry/coach segments to CKS for follow up. We also advise you to contact the pier’s customer service hotline and reserve the wheelchair assistance service at your earliest convenience.

  6. What are the required boarding documents?
    Customers from GBA ferry/bridge port: You must present a valid HK Express Intermodal Pass itinerary together with your travel documents at the ferry port. Once you have completed Upstream Check-in at the ferry/bridge port, you will receive your ferry/coach ticket and boarding pass for your flight.

    Customers to GBA ferry/bridge port: Please proceed to the Transfer Desk E2 upon arrival at Hong Kong International Airport. Present your HK Express Intermodal Pass itinerary, boarding pass, travel documents to collect your ferry/coach ticket there.

  7. When do I need to Check-in at ferry/bridge port?
    You must arrive at the Check-in counter at least 60 minutes before your ferry/coach’s scheduled departure time for Upstream Check-in. Please note that online Check-in is not available for Customers travelling with HK Express Intermodal Pass service.

  8. When do I need to Check-in at airport?
    Customers from GBA ferry/bridge port: Once you have completed Upstream Check-in at the ferry port, simply proceed to the boarding gate for your onward flight upon arrival of Hong Kong. No additional Check-in is needed.

    Customers to GBA ferry/bridge port: Those who have booked HK Express Intermodal Pass are required to Check-in at the airport (Online Check-in is not available). To ensure there is sufficient time for Check-in, we recommend you to arrive at the airport at least 1.5 hours before the flight’s scheduled departure time.

  9. Can I book the ferry/coach connection after purchase of flight ticket?
    Adding ferry/coach segment(s) to your confirmed booking or purchasing standalone ferry/coach tickets is not available at HK Express.
  1. What should I do if I missed the onward ferry/coach or flight? Who should I seek help?
    You may contact CKS/ferry/bridge port staff or our ground staff at the airport for assistance. We will accommodate you to the next available ferry/coach/flight.

  2. What about the meal that I have pre-ordered online?
    Please contact our Customer Care for a refund in case the misconnection was caused by unforeseen circumstances, e.g. operational delay or cancellation from HKE or CKS only.

  3. What should I do with my checked baggage?
    Your checked baggage will be transferred to your new connecting ferry/coach/flight. Please collect your checked baggage at your final destination.

1. Please note that your contract for your Ferry/SkyPier Terminal Transfer Coach transfer services is with Chu Kong Passenger Transport Co. Ltd (“CKS”). We arrange Ferry/SkyPier Terminal Transfer Coach transfer services as agent for and on behalf of CKS who operates the services, and we have no liability to you in relation to the provision of such services or during that portion of your travel.


2. Your contract for the flight is governed by our Conditions of Carriage and your contract for the ferry/coach transfer services is governed by CKS’s Terms and Conditions which set out at CKS’s website as current at the time your booking is made.


3. Any booking must be completed at least 1 day before the scheduled ferry/coach departure. Every change will be charged on a per customer and per segment basis. Fare differences may apply. Changes can be made up to 48 hours before the scheduled departure time.


4. You must present a valid HK Express Intermodal Pass itinerary together with your travel documents at the CKS ticket counter to exchange for a valid ferry/coach transfer ticket before boarding.


5.HK Express Intermodal Pass, including the Ferry/SkyPier Terminal Transfer Coach transfer ticket(s), is non-refundable.


6. In case of any claims, complaints or disputes concerning the Ferry/SkyPier Terminal Transfer Coach transfer service, please contact CKS atmarketing@cksp.com.hk. The decision of CKS is final.
